Cousin lovin'

I just can't get enough of Iris (as you'll see by the insane number of pictures that I'm going to include in this post). She and Gabriel played with Janet's dogs yesterday and had so much fun together. I just love following these two around. They aren't quite playing together yet, but they've got the side-by-side playing down. I love it!!

These two are seriously the cutest little toddlers. Gabriel really loved her long hair.

And not just her hair. He loves Iris. They are just so cute together.

Gabriel's pretty cute on his own too. Here he is pretending to be a puppy.

Lazy Saturday

I think we must have overdone it last week because both kids were super tired on Saturday. Gabriel took two naps totaling more than 5 hours altogether and Frejya literally did not move off the couch the whole day once she got home from girl scouts. I think they may have had very mild colds too. Gabe was gone fishing all day so the kids and I just laid around and had a lazy Saturday. It was so nice. Gabriel loves reading books so we did that for a good part of the day and just lounged around for the rest of the day (I actually cleaned house and did laundry for most of the day while the kids did nothing - for some reason that counts as a lazy day when you're a mom. So not fair).

Date night

Frejya had a girl scout sleepover Friday night so we went out for dinner and decided to bring the little guy with us. Because nothing screams romance like a toddler dipping french fries.

I just keep finding more of these

A couple more pictures from the fair. Frejya sure had fun.

Daddy's little protege

The guys went on another fishing trip the other day. I can't get Gabriel to stay still or be entertained on his own for more than 20 seconds, but somehow Gabe can take him to the lake and he'll just sit on the shore and throw rocks into the water or play with a fishing pole for several hours. How does that work?

It was a catch and release day so when Gabe handed Gabriel one of the fish, he just chucked it right back into the water. Monkey see, monkey do.

Ducks

Pretty much every animal we see is either a duck or a dog to Gabriel (with the exception of fish and cats - so I guess not everything is a duck or a dog). But mostly he calls things ducks or dogs. So we took him to see some real ducks again. And he loved it of course. He chased them all around and almost fell into the water a couple times. Fearless, this little man of mine.

Frejya was there too. Well, we all were actually. It's how we spent part of Mother's Day.

And don't worry. Frejya doesn't wear a helmet just for fun. We also walked the whole arboretum again and got lunch downtown. Frejya rode her scooter. I'll post a picture just to prove that she's not a crazy helmet-wearing kid (not that there would be anything wrong with that if she was). But she isn't.

More May Fair madness

Saturday we went as a family to the fair. We skipped the parade this year and went to the fair early - probably one of our best ideas yet. There was hardly anyone there and we got to really enjoy our first hour there with just the family. Gabriel still thought the boats were the coolest things there.

He also liked the tractors.

Frejya loved the rides. And I don't mean just a little bit. She seriously LOVED the rides. Her favorite this year was the zipper. She was a little nervous when we were in line for it the first time.

But by the second time she was getting ready to ride it, she was super excited.

The boys only lasted a few hours at the fair. We took them home in the afternoon and then Frejya and I came back for some more rides and for the Selena Gomez concert. Frejya was pretty excited about it.

It was a super fun night. We ended it with one last ride on the zipper (and a bunch more rides - we did the fair big this year and stayed until it closed).
